Before getting creative, clean your old mat first. Germs might be natural, but we don’t like them.
- 1. Super Cool Coasters! Cut an old mat into coaster sized circles, using an old coaster as a mold. Take a sponge and some non-toxic paints, and create a funky colorful textured coaster! Using metallic paints adds some extra glam.
- 2. Line those kitchen shelves! They’ll look a million times better than they did before, and you’ll be recycling.
- 3. For a personalized Welcome Mat, cut your mat to a size that works for your front door. Visit your local craft store for letter stencils and some non -oxic paint, and put whatever message you’d like on your welcome mat!
- 4. Cut your old mat into various sized triangles, and you’ve got funky present filler, much cooler than tissue.
- 5. For anyone with beautiful hard wood floors, avoiding scratches is a must. Cut that mat into small pieces, and with a little glue or double sided tape, viola, you’ve got furniture pads.
- 6. Packing materials are usually not great for the environment, and they are expensive. Use your old mat for packing those glass vases next time you move.
- 7. Old mats come in handy during camping trips, extra padding under sleeping bags, or anywhere inside your tent for that matter.
- 8. So you have a fancy new hybrid, with a spotless interior. Next time you have to transport something and are worried about the inside of your car getting messy, you’ll be glad you had your old mat cut in half to use as a moving pad.
Get Creative! Old Mats can become just about anything!
